The Wayfinder Newsletter – June 2026
A Note From Paula
I always have a little extra energy in the weeks surrounding the summer solstice.
Just like the pink peonies in my garden, I find myself blossoming in the June sun (when it appears…this is Calgary after all). At this time of the year, I stretch out my days, whether it’s appreciating the warmth of the sun during an early morning dog walk or lingering with friends during evening’s golden hour.
At solstice, just like the flowers, we get to be boundless with our energy, while remaining focused on our growth. At WPRS, we’ve been growing too, from welcoming new clients to remaining steadfast in ensuring strong results for our legacy partners. We stretch and showcase our best, while staying firmly rooted. It’s a good place to be.
We look forward to seeing you this summer, and as always, we appreciate our relationship with you.
Here’s to sunny days ahead.
– Paula

What AI Can (and Can’t) Do For Public Relations
Artificial intelligence is transforming the communications industry, but it’s not replacing the human expertise that makes great public relations effective. In our recent blog, we explore what AI can and can’t do for PR, from brainstorming ideas, organizing information, and speeding up workflows to the areas where human judgment, creativity, emotional intelligence, and relationship-building remain essential. The takeaway? AI is a powerful tool for efficiency, but authentic storytelling, strategic thinking, and meaningful connections still require a human touch. Learn more.

How to Create Compelling Video Content
Video continues to be one of the most effective tools for capturing attention, building trust, and telling compelling stories. In a recent blog, our content creators broke down the fundamentals of creating video content that resonates with audiences and supports communication goals.
Our Top Tips for Creating Compelling Video Content:
- Start with your audience in mind – Understand who you’re speaking to and what matters to them most.
- Lead with a strong story – Emotional, authentic storytelling helps audiences connect with your message and remember it.
- Keep it concise – Shorter videos are more likely to hold attention and drive engagement.
- Focus on quality basics – Clear audio, good lighting, proper formatting, and captions can make a significant difference.
- Think about distribution early – Create content that can be adapted and shared across multiple platforms to maximize reach.
- Don’t overcomplicate it – Authentic, well-planned videos often outperform highly produced content that lacks a clear message.
Great video content isn’t about having the biggest budget—it’s about understanding your audience, telling a meaningful story, and delivering it in a way that captures attention and inspires action. Learn more.
